Room 129 had several large stuffed animals which if not cleaned periodically during the school year can collect particulate and can be a allergen source when handled closely by students and staff. School administration is to determine if the items or the amount of items serve an educational value. Staff is to remove or reduce amount of stuffed items as necessary. If any of the fabric items are to remain, a cleaning plan is to be in place.

Water stained ceiling tiles were observed in the cafeteria (around light near door to hallway), gym storage (around a sprinkler head), closet in room 197, and room 129 (fresh stain between light and lockers). If not already being addressed, school custodial staff is to submit a work order to Building Maintenance to evaluate and address the source.

Water associated with the water main equipment in the boiler room was leaking into drain funnel and the floor was wetted within the vicinity. Building Maintenance was immediately notified. A contractor recently rebuilt this device. Building Maintenance is looking into whether or not the pressure reducing valve is the cause. Once determined, Building Maintenance will rebuild or replace all parts as needed.

The tamper proof casing around the thermostat in portable 176 did not have a front cover and the ventilation system mode was set to off with indoor temperature reading 64 degrees Fahrenheit. School administration is to inform custodial and teaching staff not manipulate thermostat cover or settings. Work order 234538 was issued to install cover and properly set thermostat parameters.
