A pluggable ultra-violet air purifier was observed in several staff bathrooms. Air purifiers that are not High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters are not permitted. Alternate filtration strategies (other than HEPA) can cause by-products (such as ozone), eye safety concerns (in which it is presumed staff have not received training on the hazard), and disposal concerns (mercury). These are not permitted. The individual who brought these items in is to remove them from the school.
