Finding: Northfield Elementary School: Media (FXXNES2022002056)

Numerous stuffed animals exist as noted in the past. In past, they were noted in good condition (no readily visible dust buildup) and as long as maintained may remain at the discretion of the school's administration. During this inspection, items appear in good condition, however, the surfaces they sit upon are dusty which leads to believe the stuffed animals are as dusty. The main issue with the stuffed animals is if they are disturbed/handled by students which would then disturb/airborne the potential allergens. Custodial staff is not responsible for cleaning the stuffed animals. School administration should remove or reduce the amount of stuffed animals. Whatever remains, it is recommended that media staff remove items from surfaces so custodial can clean surfaces. At that time, media staff can vacuum off each stuffed animal and then follow a cleaning plan to continue to keep the items clean.
