Remediation
The Office of the Environment used a disinfectant to clean visible surface mold from the drywall. The adhesive securing the vinyl cove base was observed to be failing, which is indicative of moisture intrusion. As a precautionary measure, the cove base was removed to assess whether mold growth was present behind it.
No visible mold growth was observed behind the cove base. However, out of an abundance of caution, the area was cleaned and disinfected.
