The front office reception area has a lamp somewhat near the area's thermostat. If thermal discomfort has been experienced it could be due to the heat from the lamp giving a false impression of the air temperature within the area. If the case, school administration is to move the lamp away from the thermostat.

Room 141 (A/B) has aerosol disinfectant sprays which are not permitted because it would aerosolize a potential airborne irritant. Room 141 (A/B) also has a small shaggy rug under a table. Shag rugs can be harder to keep clean (a personal vacuum is in the room and assume teacher is regularly cleaning). School administration is to remove aerosol sprays and consider removing the rug if it does not serve an educational purpose since the room is already carpeted. Note, disinfectant wipes are permitted. Room 119 had a food item accessible to rodents/pests, several small artificial plants (appear to be clean at the present time) on top of a cabinet, fabric items in a corner reading area and within a small pop tent/teepee (confined space), and an electric plastic kettle on the floor (plugged in and water in pitcher; has an auto shutoff safety feature once water boils). Food items are to be in a sturdy plastic container with a securable lid. The artificial plants are to be removed since they cannot be readily cleaned and under certain conditions form mold growth due to the laden dust. The fabric items are to be reduced or removed if they do not serve an educational purpose since they can harbor allergens (if not regularly cleaned; not custodial responsibility) and students are in close contact with the items. The electric kettle is more of a fire and safety concern (scalding water). The device is to be removed. The above corrective actions for room 119 are the responsibility of school administration. The floor tile in the commons area of rooms 116-121 had heavy dirt build up from foot traffic from the secondary front entrance. This was also observed in the cafeteria near its exterior entrance/exit door. It was a non-school day the day of the inspection and not sure if evening custodial staff would normally clean the floor before the next school day. School custodial staff are to place additional walk off mats if feasible and/or clean impacted floors the evening or morning before school to reduce tracking of particulate.
No stained or damage ceiling tiles
Yes
Work Order Closed by Building Maintenance
Water stained ceiling tiles were observed in room 156 and the boys restroom located in the commons of rooms 171 and 173. If not already being addressed, school custodial staff is to submit a work order to Building Services to assess, correct source, and replace ceiling tile.
