A sewer odor was present in the shower area within the girls locker room. The floor drain traps are drying out and allowing the backflow of sewer gases. School custodial staff is to ensure traps are filled with water (pour at least a 5 gallon bucket into each drain).
No stained or damage ceiling tiles
No
Water stained ceiling tiles were observed in the stairwells between rooms 118 & 120 and 135 & 137 (around sprinkler pipes). School custodial staff is to submit a work order to Building Services if not already being addressed. Room 148 had a minor ceiling tile stain. A water droplet was observed forming on pipe insulation above the drop ceiling. Since an active leak, work order 170417 was submitted to Building Services.
No visible mold present (walls, cabinets, under sinks, behind posters)
No
Mold growth was observed in main gymnasium on both sets of bleachers. The mold was present on the top / exposed side of the wood stairs and aisle ways. The Office of Environment will work jointly with school custodial staff to clean and disinfect the impacted surfaces. The cause is thought to be the combination of chronic humid summer weather and/or operation of the ventilation unit along with the understanding custodial staff wet mopped the bleachers during the summer and most likely did not adquately dry. IEQ concern #CXRHHS202000018F.
