An air cleaner (LifeWise Model 63-1532) was observed in room 75. Upon review of product, it uses an IFD filter which is basically an electrostatic filter. An IFD can produce minute amount of ozone which is a known respiratory irritant. School administration is to have staff member remove from the building. Although the Office of Environment does not recommend air cleaners in general, HEPA filter only devices are to be used since others may present additional IEQ concerns.
