The thermostat and carbon dioxide sensors were partially obstructed by materials on top of a mobile computer lab cart. In addition, if the mobile lab carts cast off heat, it can provide a false sense of the air temperature within the room. These findings may negatively impact thermal comfort. School administration is to inform staff to remove items off the top of the mobile computer lab cart and move the cart if it produces heat when charging laptops.
A student desk is located near the wall air return grille in room A171. The desk is partially obstructing the return air flow. In addition, if a student is using the desk, this is not the best location since air flow moves across the student (i.e. draft). School administration is to inform staff to relocate the student desk and not to obstruct ventilation components.

Room A159 had several stuffed animals and an artificial plant. Room C212 had large fabric items (two bean bags and throw pillows). These items can collect dust if not regularly cleaned by staff (not responsibility of custodians) and can become a potential allergen source when closely handled (disturbed). School administration is to inform staff that artificial plants are not permitted and determine educational value of the fabric and stuffed items. If not necessary, remove /reduce the amount, implement a regular cleaning plan, and/or replace with a covering such as vinyl (i.e. bean bags) that can be easily wiped cleaned.
A slight air freshener aroma was detected upon entering room C212. An air freshener device was located on window sill near teachers desk. School administration is to inform staff to remove the device since air fresheners are not permitted and can mask an odor of concern and be nuisance / irritant to others.
