The Office of Environment was contacted Building Maintenance about a fire in the kitchen. The source was the oven in which school staff used a dry chemical fire extinguisher.
A restoration contractor will be utilized to clean the residual extinguishing agent. The areas to be cleaned include the kitchen, kitchen office, dishwashing area, the hallway behind the kitchen, and a few square feet within the food / pantry storage room.
The Office of Environment performed a final inspection of the cleaning which was found to be acceptable. The Howard County Health Department is said to be making a general visit of the kitchen at a later time.
