Date(s) of Assessment: February 26, 2024

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, the Day Building Supervisor at River Hill High School contacted the Office of Building Maintenance to report a water leak in Room 155.

Building Maintenance staff responded and discovered a section of plumbing located in the wall in Room 155 had failed causing a leak on the floor.

Custodial staff extracted water from the tile floors.  Building Maintenance staff begin the process of drying the drywall and base cabinets in the affected areas including Room 155, Room 150, and the hallway adjacent to Rooms 150 and 155.

The materials impacted included the base of drywalls and wood casework.  Building Services removed the cove base from the impacted items, drilled holes within, and placed air movers to direct air onto and into the base of the items to facilitate drying.

On February 26, 2024, the Office of Environment performed an assessment (visual and moisture detection meters) to assess the drying process.

On February 26, the Office of Environment determined areas were dry.

The above actions are meant to prevent the potential for microbial growth.
