Heavy amount of mineral salts were observed on the cement block wall below a chalkboard and near a window in room 111. The chalkboard was removed to observe for mold growth. Mold growth was not observed on the wall or backing of the chalkboard. However, past moisture intrusion was observed (swelled backing of chalkboard and dried blistering paint on the wall). The findings appear to be from past damage and resolved when roofing system was replaced. A work order will be generated to refinish walls after receiving results from chalkboard adhesive dot samples to identify if they contain asbestos or not. Work order 252616.

Portable 238 has an aerosol air freshener. School administration is to have the item removed from the school and inform staff that these products can be a potential irritant to other individuals.
Portable 241 had an non-HCPSS air purifier which has the capability to use essential oils (when inserted) and an ionizer (when pressing designated control button). Air purifiers that are solely HEPA and/or charcoal filtered are permitted. Any other type is not permitted and should be removed as it has the potential to hinder IEQ.
