Cob webs observed in room 109 in the upper back left corner wall (with whiteboard and bulletin board). School custodial staff to clean now and then per their cleaning schedule. Various wood tables and chairs on stage. They presented a noticeable odor to the inspector when near them. Some chairs were dusty along the base support. Aged wood may eventually emit odors. If these are non-issued HCPSS furniture and not meant for instructional purposes school administration is to have removed. If they serve an instructional purpose, school administration is to have the person who brought it in responsible for cleaning/cleaning plan. If HCPSS issued, school custodial staff is to clean all exposed surfaces of these items. If anyone should report an odor in the stage and/or cafeteria area, school administration is to consider removing these items from the school as a process of elimination.

Mold growth related to extended elevated relative humidity was observed in the storage room within the technology education production room. A piano and two vertical wood cabinets (for tool storage) were impacted. The Office of Environment is cleaning/disinfecting using the services of a restoration contractor and placing a data logger to record temperature and relative humidity. After the impacted items are cleaned, the school will then have the items removed since they are not in use. Once response actions are complete, further information will be available via IEQ Concern CXPVMS202200021A.
